Writing content that AI wants to quote
The structural habits that make a page extractable, credible and repeatedly cited — with nothing dumbed down for humans.
By Go Vista AI
There's a fear that writing for AI means writing blandly. The opposite is true. Models quote specificity: numbers, named methods, clear positions. Vague content is exactly what gets summarised away.

If the answer is where the audience is, the goal of a page changes. You're not writing to be visited. You're writing to be the version of the truth the answer is built from.
Habit 01
One page, one question, answered immediately
Lead with a self-contained answer in the first sixty words, then earn the rest of the reader's attention underneath it. Preamble is the enemy of extraction — and, honestly, of readers too.
Habit 02
Be specific enough to be worth stealing
"Improve your content quality" is unquotable. "Fees start at £1,000 a month and cover technical, content and digital PR" is a fact a model can carry into an answer with your name attached.
Real numbers instead of ranges where you can
Named processes instead of generic advice
A clear position, including what you disagree with
Original data, even from a small sample
Habit 03
Structure like a reference, read like a person
Descriptive headings phrased as questions. Short paragraphs. Lists where lists are honest. Tables for comparisons. None of this requires bad writing — it requires editing.
Test it
Paste your page into an assistant and ask it to summarise your key claim. If the summary is wrong or generic, the page is too — a reader would have missed it too.
Habit 04
Show who wrote it and why they'd know
Named authors, real credentials, dates that get updated. Trust signals are increasingly what separates two pages containing the same facts.
- Author bios with verifiable experience
- Sources cited and linked
- Last-updated dates that reflect real edits
The short version
Write the most specific, most useful version of the answer. Structure it so a machine can lift it cleanly. Sign it with a name that means something.
